Where you are in life right now does not determine where you will be, and it definitely does not define the rest of your life.
This has been proven over and over by many rags to riches tales.
And even recently, this fact was proven by Octavian, a rapper who used to be homeless.
He was shortlisted for the BBC Music’s Sound of 2019 top ten, by judges including Stormzy and Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac.
He used to be homeless and down on his luck, but now counts people like Drake and Ella Mal as fans.
The past winner of this award include Adele and Sam Smith, so this is no small feat.
This is a great example of how your efforts can change the course of your life, no matter how dire things may seem at this time.
So if you, or someone you know, is going through a tough spot, remind yourself that things can (and will) get better.
Just keep at it.
